Cultural activity programme

We are all traveling to Kjerringøy on Wednesday, 14. August. You can choose one cultural activity for Tuesday and  one for Thursday. Feel free to explore other activities that are not part of the scheduled plans as well, you will find some suggestions for other activities to do in Bodø at the end of the article.

The Cultural Schoolbag (DKS) is a nationwide programme to ensure that all school pupils in Norway experience professional arts and culture of all kinds. It is a collaborative project between the Ministry of Culture and Equality and the Ministry of Education and Research, and with all counties and municipalities in Norway.

The undisputed favorite of the people of Bodø, offering a 360-degree view of the city and mountains. 

we are invite you to join us for a one to two-hour hike up to Keiservarden, which is located at approximately 366 meters above sea level.

Difficulty: The hike is considered easy to moderate, suitable for most age groups and fitness levels.

Equipment: Good hiking shoes or sneakers are recommended as the trail can be rocky and unven in some places. Bring water and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.

 

Peacepainting

In their workshops, participants come together in groups and paint in a context of peace and equality among people and nations. They use colors as a common platform, and emphasize that all colours are important, both in a practical way when making art and in a symbolic way when talking about equality.

In 2016, the street art festival UpNorth left its mark on Bodø’s buildings, and you can still see some of them around town. Several professional grafitti artists was invited to color the city with their work. These graffiti artworks, paint a vivid picture of urban expression, and most artworks are inspired by the nature and culture around Bodø.
